Overview

DriverIn is an on-demand driver hiring platform designed for people who own a car but need a professional driver whenever required. Instead of booking a vehicle, users can hire verified drivers on an hourly, daily, or monthly basis, making personal transportation more flexible, safe, and convenient.

The product was designed for both Android and iOS, providing a seamless booking experience with features such as OTP verification, driver tracking, booking management, and real-time ride status. Inspired by the usability standards of platforms like Uber and Ola, DriverIn combines a familiar user experience with a unique service model focused entirely on professional driver hiring.

Challenge

DriverIn was built as a completely new startup product — there was no existing brand identity, design language, or user experience to build upon.

The major challenges included:

  • Creating the complete brand identity from scratch, including the logo, colors, typography and overall visual language.
  • Designing both Light Mode and Dark Mode interfaces simultaneously, with every screen manually adapted instead of using automated theming.
  • Designing first for iOS before adapting the complete experience to Android while maintaining consistency across both platforms.
  • Creating intuitive booking flows that users could understand immediately while introducing a completely new service concept.
  • Designing and producing micro interactions throughout the application including onboarding, booking flow, driver waiting states, vehicle selection and confirmation experiences.
  • Rigging custom character illustrations and exporting animations as Lottie files for smooth implementation within the application.
Design Approach

We adopted a modern and minimal design approach inspired by the simplicity and usability of leading mobility platforms such as Uber and Ola. Every interaction was carefully designed to minimize friction while keeping the experience approachable for first-time users.

The design process began with branding and gradually evolved into wireframes, user flows, interface design, motion design, and finally high-fidelity prototypes for both platforms.

Brand Identity

As DriverIn had no existing visual identity, I designed the complete branding system from scratch, including the logo, color palette, typography, iconography and visual style. The goal was to create a modern, trustworthy and memorable identity that reflected reliability, safety and simplicity.

Light & Dark Experience

The application was designed for both Light Mode and Dark Mode. Instead of relying on automated theme conversion, every interface was carefully redesigned to ensure readability, accessibility and visual consistency across both themes.
